Desktop Publishing Process

At IntlSight, we guarantee providing Multilingual Desktop Publishing services in high level of quality passing through the described below 10 steps for Multilingual Desktop Publishing process:

* The process assumes the content is already translated into the target language(s) in the proper file formats.

Our professional project managers study and analyze the client’s request and the to understand the subject matter, target language(s) and select the most suitable DTP team for the project. PM ensures receiving the full project package from the client, including open source files, fonts, graphics, …etc.

The dedicated project manager confirms the project scope and the target language(s) and locale(s) with the client to be aware of the ideal completion deadline, the format of the translated content, the approved terminology, and style guide to follow.

After sharing the quotation with the client and getting an approval on the cost, project scope and turnaround time, the project manager kicks off the project for localization.

Adjusting the pages layout according to the target language(s) in terms of reading order. For example, Right-to-Left languages (or BiDi languages) like Arabic, Hebrew, Farsi, … etc.

Localizing the images and graphs included in the document. This step includes translating the text in the images/graphs and adjusting the layout. Then, the localized images will be added back into the localized document.

The DTP team prints Low-Res PDFs of the localized materials for the purpose of Quality Assurance.

Linguistic QA: The generated localized material to be shared with the linguistic teams to review/QA and provide comments to the DTP team to implement in the document. The linguistic teams ensure that the localized material is free of any linguistic, punctuation or truncation/overlapping issues.
DTP QA: This is conducted by a testing engineers who compare the localized material against the source one to catch any layout issues or font corruptions to report to the DTP team to resolve.

IntlSight’s project manager delivers a first draft version of the DTP’ed document to the client to review the DTP localized document and provide any feedbacks or required modifications.

The DTP team reviews and implements the customer feedback and prints the final High-Resolution version of the DTP’ed document to deliver to the client.

Project manager delivers all assets (DTP’ed target open files, High-Res PDFs, used fonts, localized graphics open files, …etc.) to client once the project is completed and QA’ed.

After that, our project manager will be still available to receive any feedback or comments from the customer on the delivered DTP’ed document(s), and IntlSight teams will review and implement the required changes.
